My inspiration comes from nature and organic living forms.  Clay is my medium of choice. There are a number of steps in creating a finished piece. First I throw, then trim, alter and incise or carve a porcelain form.  After the form is dry and bisque fired, I begin the glazing process.  Techniques used are pouring, dipping, brushing and sponging glazes and underglazes onto the form as well as using wax resist. The piece is then fired to a high cone 6 (about 2260 degrees F) in an electric kiln.  Once finished, my work can be described as organic, colorful and rhythmic.

I love what I do because it enables me to express my interpretation of nature and create something of beauty that speaks to another human being.  It is a bonus what I create is tactile and three-dimensional.  It can be used or handled by another person, becoming a part of their everyday life.
