“I make series that are based on the interactions of Maker, Emotion, Community, Research, Viewer and Chance. I construct processes which produce objects of utility, of metaphorical construction, and didactic interaction. Some of the objects include cups which change color in the morning light, Clay which grows like bread to make a metaphor for compassion, sculptures based on surveys on stranger’s kindness, and clay tablets that grow words based on faith and knowledge. Human interaction has always been a wonderful mystery that I’ve yet to understand, the work I make explores different scales of investigating how material can mimic a phrase made by a sincere emotion or vision another person or persons around me has had. I then show my love, gratitude, curiosity, cleverness, and sincerity to those who view my works. Ultimately my work is about others and the mystery of material, geometry, emotion, and metaphors of kindness and light.”
